The Planungsgemeinschaft LaReG accomplishes, in collaboration with counties, cities and communes, landscape framework plans, landscape plans and, on the level of site mangement planning, green structure plans including environmental reports. Cycle and horse riding tracks are important elements of local recreation concepts. For parts of nature and landscape worth of protection like biotopes according to § 30 BNatSchG conservation and development plans are developed. In ecological expert opinions especially biotope networks are considered.

The LaReG planning community prepares green development plans at the urban land use planning level. In addition to the environmental report, they include a balance according to the common models such as the city model or the Osnabrück model (Lower Saxony) and, above all, measures to avoid, reduce or compensate for the effects of building area developments.

The Planungsgemeinschaft LaReG develops environmental reports, according to § 2 para. 2 and § 2a sentence 2 No. 2 of the Town and Country Planning Code (BauGb), describes and assesses the result of the environmental audit in the course of the procedure for the draw up of site construction plans.

The invironmental report gives information about the objectives of environmental protection as well as an adequate statement of prospective environmental impacts of a land use or plan development plan also in consideration of planning alternatives. Demonstrated are particularly measures to avoid, decrease or compensate adverse effects of the urban land use planning.
